The Department of Management and Logistics of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economy and Management of Poltava National Technical Yuri Kondratyuk University is a multidisciplinary research community that promotes the study of most relevant and fundamental issues that affect the managerial profession. We seek to use scientific methods to help solve managerial, social, technological and economic problems. Our research uses both quantitative and qualitative methods, and in many projects we strive to apply or develop innovative research designs.

The research we undertake and the courses we offer encompass the following areas:

-  Strategic management. We study why some companies succeed while others fail. We examine issues faced by senior executives, including strategy formulation and implementation, competitive dynamics between rival firms, effective merger and acquisition initiatives, globalization, and the critical role of boards of directors and management teams.

-  Entrepreneurship. We focus on skills and processes related to identifying new business opportunities and capturing such opportunities, whether in nascent ventures or corporations.

-  Organizational behavior. We explore the “psychology of work”, examining how people’s attitudes and actions impact the functioning of groups and organizations.

-  Innovation. We examine individual and organization-level processes related to the creation, protection, financing and production of innovative technologies and products.

-  Ethics. We focus on generating and disseminating theories and tools for analyzing and addressing ethical problems in organizations, creating ethical organizational cultures and conducting business in a socially responsible manner.

-  Leadership and strategic thinking. We examine leadership in formal and informal roles at individual, group and organizational levels. We emphasize how strategic thinking informs leadership behavior and its impact on performance outcomes.

Our Department publishes in journals that are highly regarded within our field and also includes members of editorial boards of these journals.

We also strive to maintain a strong connection to the international research community, by participating in all the relevant international conferences as well as organizing seminar series, international scientific conferences, All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad and other events, where both external and internal presenters share their research with our students.
