The department has been an organization structure of the university since its foundation. In 1930 it was called “Economics and Construction Organization Department”. The department has been developing, transforming and successfully functioning for almost 20 years. In 1990 it got the name “Enterprise Economy Department”. The Department was headed by professor M. Z. Berlin, associate professor A. G. Krysanov, professor A. M. Anyuhovsky, associate professor V. P. Gubachev.

Since 1995 the department has headed by the Candidate of Economic Sciences, professor V. Y. Chevhanova, PhD.

The department operates within the framework of Economics and Finance Department, it is a graduating and powerful academic unit of the university.

The history of foundation of Enterprise Economy Department consists with the history of development Poltava National Technical Yuri Kondratyuk University, because the department (among others) is the successor to the Department of Economics and Construction, established back in 1930. The first head of the department was Vasily Sukhanov, who was a well- known expert on rural construction.

Acording to the increased number of students and the opening of new specialties, other departments started separating from the Economics and Construction organization Department. There were: Construction Machinery Department, Bases and Foundations Department, Technology of Building Production, Construction Economics Department etc. During the postwar years the Department’s staff participated in reconstruction of objects and agricultural enterprises of the region, which were destroyed by the Nazi invaders, it also helped the builders of Poltava city, the collective and state farms in the reconstruction of destroyed objects.

In 1967 the organization and economy of construction territorial research laboratory (OECTRL) was established by the Order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Education. Professor Berlin Mykhailo Z. was the initiator of this laboratory and supervisor in the first years of that activity. Laboratory conducted a lot of research work to improve rural economic development. The Department and the OECTRL staff participated in conferences and seminars on problems of agricultural building intensification.

Since 1989 the Department has conducted training of engineers and economists. In 1990 it was divided into two departments: Enterprise Economics and Economic Theory.

In different years the Department was headed by professor M.Z. Berlin, associate professor A.G. Krysanov, professor A.M. Anyuhovsky, associate professor V.P. Gubachev. Since 1995 the department is headed by the Candidate of Economic sciences, professor V.Y. Chevganova, Ph.D.

Department is leader of specialty Enterprise Economics.

The Department staff conducts educational process at all faculties of day and distance learning, supervises diploma projects and students’ professional training, trains Masters in Business Economics. Since 1995 a post-graduate course operates within the department, which provides training for candidates of economic scientists.

The specific of this specialty is versatility and the possibility of employment in any sector of the economy. This is quite different from other economic areas in higher education. Economists can be needed everywhere: in factories, firms, companies, insurance companies, commercial banks, tax authorities, pension funds, etc.. The realities of the market economy suggest that excess economists in the labor market can not be, because they constitute the professional link that provides enterprise and the normal functioning of the economy in all levels.

Training economists at the university, which is accredited by the highest fourth level, is conducted under the programs of state standard specification. Learning of many major subjects, especially those that form the economic thinking, is provided by the standards. The following subjects are studied fundamentally: macroeconomics, microeconomics, business economics, economic analysis and planning of business, finance, international economics, taxation, accounting, business law, organization of production, management etc.

Making conclusion, successful mastering the specialty Enterprise Economics at PoltavaNationalTechnicalYuriKondratyukUniversity provides the opportunity of becoming a well trained highly qualified specialist, whose skills will meet the requirements of a wide range of jobs in the labor market.

In a market economy there is demand for professionals who understand the overall structure of enterprises, ways to help optimize the different areas of its activities (organizational, economic, financial, marketing, etc.). Feature of such experts is a broad understanding of structural relationships in the enterprise, as well as their thorough training in such subjects as business economics, economic analysis, project analysis, financial management, business finance, labor economics, marketing, organization of production and so on.

Department of Enterprise Economy concept is based on the combination of two directions in graduate training:

on the one hand, emerging knowledge graduates from disciplines that enable professionals to work in different sectors of the economy, without specific companies. Such subjects as business economics, labor economics, social and labor relations, management, marketing, economic analysis provide general knowledge skills in making economic calculations and economically sound solutions that enable graduates to operate in any sector of the economy. This is true in a constantly changing labor market and a high degree of generality of intra-economic processes, regardless of industry and product specific enterprises and firms.

on the other hand, the curriculum specialists provided discipline, revealing the technological features of industrial and construction enterprises, which in combination with specific disciplines such as organization of construction firms for pricing, production organization give deepening economic knowledge and consider the economy of industrial enterprises and construction in close connection with technology and industry characteristics of production.

Adopts the Department of Enterprise Economy combines specificity and in-depth theoretical and practical training in general professional and special disciplines.

This approach to training provides graduates that are able to adapt to the labor market, dynamically changing.

The Department’s stuff conducts educational process at all faculties of day and distance learning. Research and teaching staff of the Department have developed over thirty new courses (subjects) in market sphere, which contain analysis of investment projects, economic risks, business economics, economics and innovation activities organization, economics and enterprise associations organization, economic diagnostics, capital of the company: the formation and usage, portfolio theory of financial investments, the company’s potential and development, etc.

The academic process at the Department is organized according to the credit-modular system of educational process, which is provided by the adequate teaching support.

Each of the disciplines at the Department is provided with a discipline training set, texts of lectures and supporting lecture notes, manuals and textbooks, collections of educational tests. The Department’s staff provides the educational process with all necessary teaching information.( Look at Russian variant)

The Enterprise Economy Department’s staff is actively engaged in scientific problems of the enterprise economy in the new economic conditions. The Department staff is constantly replenished by young highly qualified specialists.

The list of the most promising research directions:

  • drawing up business-plans of innovation and investment support of the enterprises and individual business lines
  • development of investment-innovative projects for the enterprises and institutions of the region
  • development of the budget documentation on construction, reconstruction of objects and certain types of repair works
  • providing Advisory services on calculating the cost of production and the enterprise expenditures accounting
  • formation of resource saving programs at industrial and building enterprises
  • calculation of the enterprise competitiveness in the internal and external markets
  • trainings "Economics for non-economists: the management of revenues and expenses of an enterprise"
  • extension post-diploma full-time courses “Bases of enterprise activity” for students who have basic higher education (training period - 2 weeks; academic load - 40 hours)
  • analysis and justification of economic efficiency of technical and technological decisions for the enterprises of various branches of industry
  • formation of active industrial policy of an enterprise in the conditions of transformation processes taking place in the economy
  • complex evaluation of the enterprise efficiency and the program of measures for its improvement
  • analysis of trends in the regional labour market and formation of the program of measures for its balanced development
  • the development of innovative measures for improving the system of salary payment at an enterprise
  • software for automation of calculations, planning and economic substantiation of the business-projects

  • the strategy of the competitive personnel development at an enterprise

Important role in the work of the Enterprise Economy Department is given the scientific research work of students. It is research seminar and student scientific group specialized in problems of business economics, investment, economic restructuring in the region.

Students enrolled in business economics, has repeatedly received certificates and awards for participation in the Ukrainian national Olympiads and contests



Rubaylo Alina received a diploma for winning in the category "Social Project" in the regional stage of XII Ukrainian competition of business plans entrepreneurship among young people and the regional project "Youth chooses business" in 2010.



Rubaylo Alina received certificate of the second degree in the competition of student research projects in the field of science and technology in the category "Economy and Management" in 2011.

 

Mykytenko Olena received the first degree certificate in the second round of the Ukrainian Student Olympiad on the specialty "Economy of Enterprise" in 2012.

Department of Enterprise Economy in cooperation with the Department of Public Administration and Law March 28, 2013 conducted by the All-Ukrainian scientific-practical conference "Problems and prospects for improving the management of intellectual property."

March 14, 2013 Department of Economics Company held scientific conference "Economic aspects of modern labor market in the Poltava region." The conference was attended by teachers of the Department of Economics of Enterprise, Economics and Regional Economics PoltNTU, leading experts on labor market Poltava city employment center, senior students finance and economics. The topics discussed at the conference had practical orientation and caused a remarkable interest among future graduates. The successful combination of theoretical and practical aspects of the content of the reports of teachers and students provided a fruitful discussion in the discussion on overcoming the challenges of the modern world, national and regional labor markets. Of particular interest report by Head of the active support of the unemployed Poltava City Employment Center of Hope Belgium Alekseevny on "Practical Aspects of assistance in addressing youth employment", containing practical advice and possible successful employment of graduates in modern terms, as well as explanations on changes in legislation on state regulation of employment, particularly of young professionals with jobs, internships during manufacturing practice and training to get practical experience in their field.

The conference was the next step to enhance cooperation with regional university centers of employment in order to ensure a high level of competitiveness of the economic areas of training in the labor market and increasing the level of students' knowledge about the factors of successful employment in their field.
